We are proud of our history. Kowa was first established in 1894 and started selling binoculars since 1948 and spotting scopes since 1952. It is now a 3rd generation family owned business and has grown into the 3rd largest privately owned company in Japan with over 6500 employees worldwide. Japanese craftmanship

Our roots are in Japan, all products are designed there and most are manufactured in our own factory in Soka, Japan. From lens cutting, shaping and polishing through to final assembly, every optic that leaves the Kowa factory in Japan must pass a series of stringent tolerance tests before it is released to the market.
