Use the Focus lock in your camera app to lock the phone focus - this stops your camera from focus hunting and gives you full manual control on the scope - it could save you valuable seconds.
Zoooom!
If you see vignetting (black circle) avoid the tempatation to digital zoom on your smartphone - you'll take a big hit on image quality. Use the zoom of your spotting scope eyepeice to remove vignetting.
